Prototype Devlog Week 3

Experimentation for playtesting:

  • Allow players to feel different weight of objects
  • Balancing realism and satisfaction
  • Observing what players found enjoyable

Playtesting Reflection:

Although the prototype didn't have structured gameplay, playtesters were able to find a game out of it by throwing cubes out of the map and stacking cubes to create towers. This showed that the core mechanics already has gameplay even without goals. This feedback gave me several ideas for the next prototype.

Goals for the next playtesting:

The next goals for playtesting is to create physics based liquid system. This introduces new ways for players to interact with objects by adding fluid. With the new prompt being "Corrupted Vision" I want to create fluid that can turn different colours one being poison.

  • Test how objects behave with fluid physics
  • How fluid physics effect player experience
  • Experiment with flowing, splashing and pouring mechanics

Questions to asks:

  • Do players feel a sense of flow between fluid and rigidbody objects
  • Does adding liquid change the dynamic of gameplay and interaction with game objects (Rotating and Dragging)
  • Does adding liquid create a more enjoyable gameplay
